System: Bajora
Home Planet: Bajor (M Class)

Bajorans are humanoids; they look very similar to Earthlings. The main difference between Earthlings and Bajorans is the nose. The Bajoran nose has several ridges from the eyebrows to about halfway down the nose. All Bajorans that are not a Starfleet officers have a family earring. These earrings identify the person's family. All family earrings vary but appear very similar to the uninitiated. Only another Bajoran or an outsider thoroughly acquainted with Bajoran culture could tell what family a person belongs to. The earring itself is worn in the right ear and the ear is pierced in the lobe and has one or more parts that are attached to the upper auricle of the same ear.

The Bajoran culture flourished for more than 25,000 years. Through the years, the Bajoran culture produced amazing architects, artisans, and philosophers. However, during Cardassian rule from 2328 to 2369, Bajoran civilisation declined rapidly. One Bajoran achievement was to be one of the first races to achieve space flight. They brought their architecture to countless worlds before occupation of their homeworld by Cardassians. Following the Withdrawal and a period of civil unrest, the people were united under a single Provisional Government. With the assistance of the UFP, they started to rebuild their society.
